Can I read your mind or what?
No matter what the reason... and it could be anything... you’ve reached a point where something in your life is not working and you're looking for relief.
You want change. You want change now.
I have the best clients in the world. You are intelligent, interesting, multi-faceted, high-functioning, and determined… and you want smart, effective, and engaging counseling or psychotherapy.
You need change. You may know exactly what you want to address: it could be anxiety treatment, depression therapy, marriage counseling, couples counseling, gay/bi/lgbtq counseling, lasting effects of childhood emotional neglect (CEN) or past trauma, or just plain unhappiness.
Alternatively, you may not know what it is. But you do know that it’s troubling or confusing or painful and it’s keeping you from feeling the way you want to feel and being who you want to be. You're seeking pain relief and you're ready for change.
To take precautions during this time of COVID — or simply for convenience — we can do video sessions via Zoom or FaceTime. A free 20-minute consultation is offered for new clients just as it is for in-person.
Happiness counseling?
What the hell is that???
Why isn't it depression counseling or anxiety therapy or some such thing?
You know how everyone tells you that the beginning of your relationship was just a “honeymoon phase?” That eventually it goes away, there’s nothing you can do about it and, in reality, prepare to be disappointed and barely happy for the rest of your life?
Well, they’re wrong.
Let’s get right to it: sexuality and sexual orientation have the potential to be serious hot buttons.
It’s not always comfortable to discuss them. And often not with people close to us.
When it comes to PTSD treatment, trauma therapy, and sexual abuse treatment, conventional counseling wisdom says you have to painstakingly “process” (or somehow relive your trauma) in order to heal. I disagree. Let me show you an easier way…
I am, in no way, anti-religious or anti-spiritual; all are welcomed in my practice and given full respect. However, there are an increasing number of people who are seeking help for what is now recognized as religious trauma.
We receive an unlimited number of messages suggesting — and even demanding — who we are to be in order to fulfill our gender roles. But who made up these gender obligations? Who are we pleasing by conforming to them?
You are
straight, gay,
bi, questioning,
single, coupled,
or unsure of any
of the above.
You are
religious, spiritual,
atheist, agnostic,
or dealing with religious
trauma.
All are welcome
and embraced.
I provide a welcoming, supportive, non-judgmental, upscale, and - dare I say - enjoyable environment for you to open up and feel comfortable in.
